LEARN TO LISTEN TO THE INNER VOICE

Intuition is a natural inbuilt process that anyone can tap into so that you can begin various changes as you become more open to your inner guidance. Basically, you just have to trust what impressions you are receiving. You will inherently know what is true and what is not, simply by asking the question; “Is this coming from my Higher Self?” The Higher Self is always steady, patient and will get you to your correct answer. If the information is coming from the emotional level, it may appear to be either hesitant or unsure or give you the information too quickly and then peter out. Because you are a projection of it, the Higher Self will always be there, trying to impress your conscious mind with the correct answer. However, if you would like to develop this natural ability even further, you will find some tips below.

1. Remain in a positive state of mind

When you can free yourself from the stresses of everyday living, you will find that your intuitive ability flows so much better. By remaining in a positive state of mind, you will attract positive streams of energy making it so much easier to intuit events. Do not create stumbling blocks for yourself by dwelling on past circumstances. Make every day a “fresh day - a new day.”

2. Meditation

There are various meditation techniques available today; it is just a matter of finding one that suits your temperament. When you are relaxed and the mind is quiet, it is easier for intuitive impressions to impact upon your consciousness. Remember, intuitive impressions are for guidance, but make sure they are coming from a higher source and not from your own mind.

3. Learn to listen to the inner voice

If you are on the brink of making an important decision, release, relax and let go, tune in and listen to the still, small voice within you; that voice is always there – but it won’t be apparent until you still your mind and emotions. You can only see the bottom of a lake if there is no disturbance in the lake. When the lake is still, it is able to reflect an undistorted image; so too with the mind. If your mind is racing all over the place, any message coming through will be distorted. Your mind will be able to receive clear messages only when it is peaceful and still.

MERLIN, MORGAN LE FAE, NIMUE AND ARTHUR

The romantic history of the Celts indicates one of several cultural groups that are steeped in the fairy tradition. The beneficial power of the gnomes, elven folk and fairies, of course, is to be as an aid for the growth of animals and plants. These beings emanate from the group soul and the fairy presence encourages vitality because you can equate them with being the energy parents of the flora and fauna. Fairies can also be instrumental in assisting humanity in many different ways, either on a large scale as in the instance of the Findhorn group, or on a more personal level.

Fairies also take an interest in the domestic life of humans; yes, there are such things as house fairies. They will prod your mind to help you keep your house clean and free of dust. They do not like iron, so if you have iron pots they will not come into your kitchen; stainless steel, however, seems fine.

The beings of the four elements, including the fairy folk can still be contacted in our own times, and sensitive individuals still do so. Their presence in forested areas and places of power can be felt quite easily even by those who may not actively be seeking them. Some will say that a certain area of the forest “feels strange” when they pass through it. Some are even lucky enough to perceive the various wood maidens who inhabit such places. Some can hear the fairy music that will hold a human being entranced if not careful. Camping out at night, you might perceive the nature spirits in the trees as tiny lights flickering on and off.

If you happen to be invited into their kingdom, this will usually be via a portal. It is probably better to sit at the portal gate and communicate with them in that way. Portal gates to the Fairy realm usually appear surrounded by a bluish light. Unless you are experienced, do not venture through the portal.

To study the Arthurian Tales means in our own time, to study the changes of consciousness of man and his journey to find the Holy Grail. The various characters portray the archetypes that represent the blessings and pitfalls encountered on the Grail Quest. The Grail Quest in our modern times is represented by the Path of Return to the Source.

THE SECRET TO MEDITATING

Contact with the Divine is a phenomenon natural to all human beings who attune with its energy. There are subtle faculties of the mind just beyond the surface awaiting your positive command. They respond to natural law and benefit all who learn to use them.

To be able to access these subtle abilities means that you have to clear your mind of the everyday clutter that constantly demands attention and move to a slightly altered state of consciousness where peace and serenity are natural states. If you imagine looking into a pond that has been disturbed by small fish jumping in and out, or creatures crawling along the bottom disturbing the mud, the reflection on top of the pond will be somewhat distorted. However, if you look at that same pond when it is perfectly still, you will clearly see the reflections of the trees growing alongside and either a perfect image of the sun or the moon if you are viewing it of an evening. You will see almost a mirror image.

This is the state you want your mind to be in when you meditate and make connection with your Higher Self. Your Higher Self will then be able to put down a perfect image into your mind for your consideration. However, if your mind is similar to the first example when the waters are disturbed, what sort of reflection are you liable to tune into? This is why some meditators bring through distorted information. The secret is to make sure your body is perfectly relaxed and at ease, your emotional body is in a balanced state and your mind is quiet and peaceful, so that you can allow an undistorted image to be passed to you from your Higher self.

A MEDITATION TECHNIQUE FOR REMOVING TENSION OR STRESS FROM THE BODY

Different personality temperaments will respond in various ways to the different techniques that I will be discussing from time to time. Some will appeal to some students while others will not. Try the techniques that appeal to you, and disregard the ones that do not. If the technique feels right for you it will work more easily – otherwise it will simply become hard work and you will feel like giving up – and this is not the purpose of meditation. Once you have achieved what you want with the method, then drop it; you will be able to get there without it in future otherwise it will become like a rope around your neck and you will feel that you won’t be able to do without it, and this is not meditation, it is just a technique.

Most people are familiar with relaxation styles of meditation so I will bypass this aspect and concentrate more on the methods that will take you into an altered state of consciousness.

Take a big deep breath, in through the nose, and sigh the breath out through your mouth and relax. Do this a couple of times until you feel fairly relaxed and at ease. If you still feel any tightness or tension in any part of your body, talk to those parts and give those parts permission to relax, to become soft, loose, limp and totally relaxed. You will find that they will respond if you speak gently with encouragement.

Take your awareness to the top of your head and imagine a small fountain of light spraying out there. Using your inspired awareness, imagine the light beginning to be drawn down into the brain dissolving away any negative thought forms or old belief systems that are no longer working in your life, so that your mind is able to hold more light. Then see your whole head begin to light up as the energy is drawn down, passing through your throat and beginning to fill your chest. Feel it filling your lungs, enabling you to breathe in more and more light.

As your body begins to accept more light, the energy will move down and through your abdominal region and your lower back filling that region with soothing, liquid light, before splitting and moving down your legs.

The light will push any last vestige of tension and stress out of your feet and you will feel a soft, tingling sensation under your feet as the tension moves out and is drawn down into the earth where it will be transformed into other substances.

See your body, now totally filled with light, begin to expand out into your aura, until at last you are encapsulated in an ovoid field of light.

If you look at yourself in a full length mirror after doing this exercise, you will see either a bluish, pinkish or whitish haze around your body, that flares around the head, shoulders, hips (and sometimes other places) in various moving shapes and colours. Make sure you are standing against a plain background to get the full effect.

If you can’t see it in full light, try it at night in a dark room with a soft sidelight that is out of range of the mirror. Repeat whenever you feel stressed.

WHY YOU NEED TO MEDITATE

In these times of turbulence and stress, more and more people are seeking a deeper and more definitive answer to life’s meaning. Even though they may not realize it, these people are seeking communication with the Inner Self, sometimes called the Higher Self, because it is this Self that is propelling them towards life’s fullness. It is this Self that will divulge the mystery of the Path, because the mystery of the Inner Self, is the Path itself. When meditation is experienced, it leads to freedom from the incessant mind chatter so prevalent in people today. After some time of regular practice, it also leads to peace of mind, and emotional stability and gradually to spiritual awakening and enlightenment. Meditation is much more than just a method for relaxing the body, but it is important to have a relaxed body for the deeper levels of meditation to be experienced.

Even from times of old, there has always been the desire to go within, to find a place of solitude free from the cares of everyday living and to communicate with one’s maker. Even though meditation plays an important role in religious ceremonies and various other spiritual practices, it is free from all religious connotations. It was practiced way before any formal structure of religion was established and is still being practiced in one form or another, under various names, to the present day.

There are many reasons why meditation is practiced, and some of the more modern ones include, stilling the mind, gaining peace of mind, experiencing emotional stability, spiritual growth and or the development of psychic abilities. Many people use a form of meditation purely for relaxation and health reasons. Regardless of the reason for using it, meditation does calm down the body and the mind and reduces stress and anxiety. Some people have been taught to bring their blood pressure back to normal through the practice of meditation.

Many people have found that meditation sharpens the mind and develops the intuition. Results can be obtained by practicing for ten minutes two to three times a day. It is best not to meditate when feeling tired, as you can tend to drop off to sleep. This is a hard habit to break once established. If you are feeling tired and wish to meditate, then wash your face and the upper part of your body with cold water to wake yourself up, then you should be able to accomplish the period of meditation quite easily. Ten minutes of meditation to start off with is ample time in the beginning.

Of course, you will need to find a quiet place where you will not be disturbed and it is necessary to turn off your phone. You may either sit in the Egyptian pose with spine straight, feet together and hands resting lightly on your thighs, or you may lie down with your hands and feet uncrossed. All techniques are, of course, helpful when a person is starting to meditate, but the techniques are not meditation; they are a method to get you into an altered state of consciousness where you can experience being.

Techniques are doing – meditation is being – it is being aware of a different or a higher state of consciousness. In the beginning, the techniques will seem like an effort, and many people give up because they consider it too hard. Meditation is not hard once the mind is cleared of its chatter, the emotional body settles down, and the physical body is quite relaxed.

Browse this website to find more articles on meditation, techniques of meditation, breathwork, centering and many other interesting facets of that which we know as meditation. Any person of any faith can use these methods and instructions that will only enhance your understanding of your own particular philosophy. We could say that meditation is waking up out of the self-imposed limitations of everyday life to the awareness of a different state of consciousness.

You probably find the need to meditate when this world does not give you the peace and harmony that you desire.
